Let’s Talk (#7) โ€“ Rating Systems

When I write a review, I liked to give each book a rating out of 5. I like to think that this system is straight forward and easy to understand.

I have a brief explanation for each rating on my Review policy but I thought Iโ€™d take you through each one a little bit more in depth, with a little help from Dean Winchester!ย

๐ŸŒŸย 1 STAR ย โ€“ This is the lowest markย  I give a book. Although there are times where I have wanted to give a 0 I try not to. So, what does 1/5 really mean? Well to put it simply: I didnโ€™t like your book. It wasnโ€™t to my taste, it made me roll my eyes and it just wasnโ€™t for me, I wouldnโ€™t recommend! Yadda, yadda, yadda I think you get me point.

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸย 2 STARS โ€“ Only slightly better than then a 1/5. Usually, means that I didnโ€™t completely hate the story, but there was probably something that ticked me off.

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸย 3 STARS โ€“ This is what I was when a book was just OK. Itโ€™s probably an entertaining and enjoyable read but nothing to really shout about.

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸย 4 STARS โ€“ This is awarded to books that I have enjoyed a lot. Books that get these marks because although Iโ€™ve enjoyed 95% of the story something about them doesnโ€™t make the 5/5 mark. For example, if the story is really good but the writing style is a bit meh or if the ending of a book was a bit wtf but the rest of it was amazing then yeah Iโ€™ll usually give it this rating. Some of these books also make my recommended reading list

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸย 5 STARS โ€“ DING DING DING!! JACKPOT BABY!! If I give a book 5/5 itโ€™s because its blown my mind with itโ€™s epicenes!!

5 Star rating books donโ€™t happen that much, but when the do itโ€™s the best. I will usually promote and rave on social media too, as well as adding to my recommended reading list. I usually recommend these books on the many Facebook groups that Iโ€™m member of.

And there you have it a low down on my rating system. Hopefully this has been somewhat of an entertain reading.

See you on the flipside!
